Dashboard / Skin going back to default?

I am running a couple different skins with Dashboard version 1.5.001a. What i've noticed, from time to time, it always defaults back to the white background, with dashboard running up the righthand side of the screen. Sometimes this happens when i power off/power on the PPC, sometimes, when I click on the X in the top right of the screen.

Is this a bug? Any suggestions on how to keep the skin up permanently?

Hi,

Is the skin on a storage card? Has it been removed? Dashboard is essentially determining that the skin is no longer available and no alternates are available either.

Is anyone else seeing this? I keep my active skin on a storage card, but I've not seen this issue yet.

I have experienced this when I had my skins folder on a storage card. I think at times PPC2K2 doesn't initialise the card properly at power on and so Dashboard cannot find the skins.

If the skins are in main memory then I have no problems.

I have seen something like this where randomly Dashboard cannot locate a skin to use even though one is available (though perhaps not the one that was selected since it was on a storage card that was removed).

I am trying to find a way to reproduce it consistently and get it fixed in the next update.
