In case anyone was wondering, I haven't fallen off the edge of the earth again.
There's been a lot of work going on over here regarding the next edition of Apples and Oranges. I've been working with CasesOnline quite extensively to address what I see as a very serious defect/ problem with ALL of their iPAQ 39/5400 cases.
As soon as these issues are resolved and I have new samples, I'll post a new edition of Apples and Oranges.
Kind Regards,
Christopher Spera

I just wanted to let everyone know that it appears that CasesOnline and I have resolved some of the issues I was having with the cutout (the do-dad that holds the device inside the case) in all of their cases.
Even though CasesOnline has well over 100,000 cases sold with their current dies, they are retooling the entire line of cases in order to accomodate me and my design concerns.
I am impressed...
I am told that a retooled ePortable case will be heading my way next week. As soon as I get a hold of it, I will be doing an extensive review on the ENTIRE CasesOnline product line. This plans to be a HUGE review and may be split into a number of different columns in order to accomodate all of the cases.
In the mean time, please know that I am and have been working on the latest edition of Apples and Oranges. It has unfortunately taken a lot of work, communication and correspondence between CasesOnline and myself in order to get to this point.
I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
After this series finishes, I have a few things planned; but would love to hear from you on what I should tackle next. Why not drop me a line at chris@pocketnow.com and let me know what you'd like to see a series on.
Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Christopher Spera

The Franklin Covey customized cases site is no longer active :( They apparently were losing money on the deal.

well, I didn't think it would last long... Their prices are just too expensive.
I have good news, kids! I just talked to CasesOnline, and they are sending me a hand made, replacement case that is (almost entirely) made to my specifications! As much as it can be... the case that I am referring to is a retooled/ remake of their ePortable case. It will make more sense when you see the next edition of Apples and Oranges...
I should get the case tomorrow, 5/1/03, and I should have another column up before 5/15/03, if all goes well.
Stick around, y'all... This is going to be a real interesting couple of column editions! I can hardly wait!!!
Kind Regards,
Christopher Spera
