HP has released a new ROM update for the 545x series Pocket PC. This one is definately worth the effort to install.

Didn't the 5450 already support SDIO? I thought all high-end iPAQs since the 3900 series did.

Yeah. I copied that directly from the HP site and asked the same question as I did so. I'm trying to find out what exactly they meant. (I suspect it's more support for a larger number of SDIO cards.)

Download and install this now! This update works as advertised. Not only is WLAN/PocketIE much faster, but most basic functions are also. I guess with the new 5500's due out soon, HP had to do something significant to appease the masses of us PO'd 5400 owners. So far this update looks like it just might do the trick.
