My Orange SPV Smartphone arrived today... I'll be putting it through its paces for the next several days. Keep your eyes peeled for a review by early next week.

I was able to find one on eBay. Worked a good deal, not to worry. However-- making it work with T-Mobile here in the states has been a bit of a challenge in some aspects.

Do you know if it is compatible with any other networks?

Purely GSM based networks that support the SIM card standard.

I've seen version of the Orange SPV Smartphone with both US and European plugs, but mostly models with just the European plugs.

Mine has the European style, but I simply use a small adaptor to convert it to US-- works well enough. The AC adaptor itself allows for the plugs to be removed and exchanged (I just didn't have a US plug to replace it with).
