Chris, any idea when you'll have a version compatible with PPC2003? I tried installing the new beta on my iPAQ 2215 (bought today!) and it locked up at startup. Had to do a hard reset. :(
To clarify, version 1.5 seems to work OK, but not the new version 2.0.026 beta.

Hey, tell us more about the iPAQ 2215 -- like where you got it and what features it has (but please do that in the Unit Specific forum, not here; I'm trying to get a forum created for the iPAQ 2200).
Thanks,
Steve

Hi,
I am not sure. It looks like it requires a new compiler just to build the code. I'm downloading it now though so hopefully it's not too different.

My 2.0.14 Beta works fine except for the issues mention here (http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?threadid=13688).
Sorry, I just realized there was a more recent beta out. I seem to have been forgotten over the last few years for beta notifications by e-mail :)

You sure have a gift for hyperbole.... Years? LOL
a few months maybe.
As far as I know if there are posts of a public beta you will not get notice of this. You will have to check the order lookup page or read here on these forum pages to see if one has been released. I do believe the first time Chris released a beta to the public he sent out an email.
Non public betas are only emailed to the internal beta team.
I hope this helps you understand how it works.

Actually it has been at least 2 years as I was an original Owner of Dashboard and have the lifetime Upgrade thing.
I quit getting regular updates over a year ago.
I stumbled across the 2.0.14 Beta.

As I understand it, owners are not notified of Dashboard beta releases of any sort. Only beta test team members are told when a private beta is available, and sent a page with time-limited links to the various versions. Public betas are not mailed out either, as stated above, and so even beta team members would have to check for these. I've been as much as a couple of weeks late at times, just because I had no idea a beta was out. Not a problem, really, as the private betas are usually not so different from the public ones to follow.
If you've had no email notifications of the latest full release version, then perhaps PM Chris and let him know, though I've lost track of whether or not he notifies folks of those any more...

Hi,
OK - I have the new compiler and toolkits installed and setup from Microsoft. I have recompiled the entire application for the Pocket PC 2003 OS (yet another build to distribute it seems) and started testing.
Everything seemed to be working fine for me until I installed a Today module to play with. I quickly noticed that my device soft-reset whenever I disabled the Today module and left the dialog. Well, after playing with it for a while and playing around with different code I finally came to the conclusion that the Today module I have been testing with is incompatible with Pocket PC 2003.
I have been using the Journal Bar for testing because I love this little applet. But sad to say, when I used another Today module to test with - everything appeared to work OK. This doesn't mean I have extensively tested everything but the stuff I tried worked fine. So I removed Dashboard, loaded up the Journal Bar on the Today page and sure enough, if I go into the Settings | Today | Today Items applet and disable it my device soft-resets as soon as I hit OK. Turns out I was chasing a non-Dashboard issue for the past couple days.
I hope to get the next Beta out (was hoping to release 2.0 by now but with the release of the new OS I need to keep it in Beta a bit longer) shortly that will include Pocket PC 2003 support.
As for new releases - I do send out email notices when I have a release. There hasn't been one in a while because 2.0 has been in development that long. Also, not everyone gets them because of spam blocking filters and old email addresses. I'd say easily 25% of the mail I send gets bounced back to me.
The Private Beta testing team gets the really unstable beta's way before they get into the order lookup site. These people test them out to make sure they're stable enough for a wider distribution.
Anyway - to sum up - Dashboard Beta v2 will work on the Pocket PC 2003 OS and it will have it's own special build for the new OS. I hope to release that really soon - maybe within a week from now near July 4th if internal testing goes well. I don't have a lot of time, but I am also working through the requests for access to the order lookup page and will get back to some of the message board posts here soon.
Thanks!

Sweet. Thanks, Chris.
FWIW, I got v2.0.026beta working by putting everything (executables and all other files) in one folder, then running the installer. Everything on it runs fine, and it absolutely flies on the 2215.
Thanks again for your support.

OK, Dash crashes on my 2215. Can you give more specifics? Did you place everything ina folder on the PPC or PC?
Did you run the PC executable or run the cab file on the PPC?
If the cab file, did you put it in a Dash folder? Or just ran it from My Docs?

I'm going from memory, so bear with me. I took all files out of their respective folders and put them in one big folder on my PC. Then I ran the setup.exe file from there, and it installed fine.
I believe Chris has a new installer out, though, so maybe you should look into that.

Hi,
Still working on the 2003 code. I seemed to break something with a recent build so I'm backtracking a bit to get it back again. :)
Still hope to get a release out. I have all the automated builds working so once I get the code ironed out should have it on the site quickly.
The next build will contain some new things like auto-sensing the language (to reduce the number of installations I have to build and you have to sift through). With that is the ability to use multiple languages (that we support at least) on your device. For instance, you can use French and German if you like and just change between them through the options.
Hang in there - getting close now.
I've also uploaded all the registrations into the database so if you couldn't get in before and you registered recently, try it again.
Thanks!
I'm running Windows Mobile 2003 on my 3970 and it seems that the latest Dashboard will run if you install it over 1.5. Hope this helps.

Just got an HP 5555 with PPC 2003, and first thing I did was try to install Dashboard as I normally would. No luck grashed on first try. The I tried Ray's solution, no luck there either. I then tried installing 1,15 first as suggested and it worked, installed 2 Beta on top and still works. However, no MiniLauncher (the only away around it was to create a shortcut in the ML subdirectory and going back the Agenda screen... voilá!... the ML now works). If all shortcuts are deleted, I'm back to square one.
Other issue unresolved at the moment is the Options menu, suppose to appear once you tap twice on the respective icons of Agenda, E-mail, Task, etc. Have not been able to figure that one out
I'm also getting slow responses when tapping but, I think it is machine related. Any comments?

I installed the .26 Beta over 1.51 on my 2210 and it seemed to work. The only problem is that I have gone now not using Dashboard wating for the WM2003 version that I think I like my Today setup better than using Dashboard. I have temporarily uninstalled it.

The 2003 release will be out tonight or tomorrow. Finally have all the kinks worked out of it I hope.
Thanks!
