HP has revealed their iPAQ upgrade policy. It appears that upgrades will be available for the 5400s, the 3900s and (yea!) the 3800s.
Read the article for more information.

According to C|Net (http://www.cnet.com/techtrends/0-6014-8-21293345-5.html), the upgrades for the 3900s and 5400s will be available in July.
The upgrades for the 3800s will be available in October. :( I'm guessing that's because they want to get the upgrades out for their XScale (AKA "recent") iPAQs first, and then will start work on the 3800 version.
I wonder how long a version for the 3600s and 3700s would take. :D

This company is acting so F**ked about this.
Exactly what upgrade won't be available until October, and where on the site did you get that information?
If you mean the iPAQ 3800 upgrade, I reported on that back on June 24th. It's true that it won't be available until October, but that's not a change.
If you mean some other iPAQ, according to HP's Windows Mobile 2003 Upgrade page (http://www.hp.com/sbso/special/ppc_upgrade.html), most upgrades for the 3900s and 5400s will be available in August, with upgrades for some languages shipping in September.

Based on the Axim situation, I think I'd actually prefer to wait a little while to get a real working upgrade as opposed to something slapped together quickly with a few nice bugs thrown in. Making sure everything works sometimes takes time and HP's already taken a fair bit of flack for 545x performance issues.
