Dashboard and WeatherAndStockToday

Hi!

I've seen this cool today plug-in showing stock and weather information.

I was trying to add this to Dashboard. The only possiblity I found was by using the DashToday15a plugin from the Dashboard support pages.

But now I have the choice, if i want to see my agenda or the weather information. Can I see two plugins on one page at a time?

Another issue releated to WeatherAndStockToday: Does someone know how to get detailed weather information for international (in this case German) cities? I only get the correct icon, but neither forecast nor temperature information. Or is an other product out there, that does do this?

You should try Omega One Journal Bar. This also includes weather for german Cities and works quite well !
Also you can display more than one Today plugin per Dashboard page in the latest betas which work great by the way.

I was looking through old posts trying to find something I had read before, and I found this thread.

To answer ThomasJ's question: Yes, this does show weather for international cities, including Germany. It is not as detailed as the weather for the States, but it gives forecasted temperatures and a brief condition (i.e. Rain) I have it showing Münster as one of my cities.

If there's anyone else using WeatherAndStockToday with Dashboard, here is something I noticed: This plugin does not always refresh correctly. For example, suppose that I call Internet Explorer, do some surfing, then close IE. When this bug happens, instead of the Weather/Stocks displaying, in that plugins space, I would see part of the last Web page I visited. This is a sporadic problem, it does not happen all of the time. It does happen with just about any program, not just IE as in my example. The plugin will not refresh until I do a soft-reset.

This bug appears to be part of the plugin and NOT Dashboard. This bug happens even if Dashboard is not enabled. This problem does not occur all of the time, so I haven't contacted Vintage Slots yet, but will shortly.

An update to my last post...

Since then, StocksAndWeatherToday has been updated and works much better. (Current version 5.08) I have yet to see the refresh problem I mentioned in my previous post.

So it's now always displaying weather properly and not messing up the nice Dashboard display.
