Launcher is sooooo slowwww

I have about 5 pages of game icons listed under launcher. When I click on the screen to see the first page of games it takes about 20 seconds to get there. It If click on page 2, it can take about 10-15 seconds to go to the next page. All of these games are running from a lexar sd card.

Why is this process so slow? I have an IPAQ 3955 os 2002 with all the latest patches. I am also running the latest dashboard beta.

Hi,

It's most likely because Dashboard is loading the icons for the programs off of the SD card which is a lot slower than main memory.

Has it always been this way or did it just slow down recently with one of the newer releases?

It's always been this way. I wanted to install the latest sd patch before I posted this. Is there anything that can be done about this? It's very frustrating.
