View Full Version : Problems with scrollbar and accessing Beta

I have just purchased and installed Dashboard, and also WisBar - both seem like they will be really useful.

It would be great if someone could help me with a couple of problems.

When I look at the dashboard screen it still has a scrollbar on the right-hand side which (a) obscures the icons in the agenda view; and (b) just scrolls the dashboard skin up revealling the old Today skin. How do I remove the scrollbar?!

Secondly, I'm desperate to see the new v2 Beta. I purchased Dashboard via PocketGear and immediately received a confirmation and order number. However whenever I enter this on the 'retreive order' screen on the scoopsoft site it just re-presents a blank form. Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like you have other things turned on for your today page.

Go to Start-Settings-Today and click onthe Items tab. Make sure the only thing checked there is Dasboard.

It appears the database is manually updated, so sometimes it might take a day or two for it to be updated. But it will be worth the wait....The 2.0b is WAY better than the 1.5 release.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will keep trying on the orders page.

I have checked the today option and only have Dashboard selected so I'm still not sure how to clear the toolbar. Any other ideas?

Just tried again, and did a soft reset afterwards and the scrollbar has gone. Thanks for the advice.

Still hopeful of the v2 beta soon ...!

Ok...I was thinking maybe it was a WM2003 issue.

Have you tried turning Dashboard off. Then going to your today settings and make sure everything is turned off and restarting Dashboard? Maybe even do a soft reset before and after this...

I really haven't had this problem so I'm not sure what else to suggest....The developer of Dashboard (and a few others that are more experienced with it than I am) will probably be able to tell you exactly what to do...I'm sure one of them will show up around here shortly...

EDIT Seems you snuck your post in while I was typing...Glad you got it working.

Make sure you're going here (http://www.snoopsoft.com/orders/orderlookup.asp) to look up your order (once Chris has uploaded your info) and check to make sure the version of Dashboard you're using is the latest for your OS.
You should be able to get the 2.0.035 beta for PPC 2002...it is much better than older versions.
Also, if you do get a newer version, make sure you uncheck "Dashboard" from your Today Settings/Items screen before you try to uninstall the older version. Also, I can't recommend enough the usefulness of having a registry editor to remove any bits and pieces of old installations.

Thanks for the advice. I have been trying the screen that your link goes to but with no success.

I bought the product via PocketGear two days ago so presumably I have to wait a bit longer. Do you know whether I'll get an email from snoopsoft confirming registration or do I just keep trying with the PocketGear order number quoted?

I have sent a message to Chris but haven't had any reply - I guess I'll just have to keep trying ...:(

Well, yes, you should receive confirmation, but it may just be from PocketGear (it's been a while, and I'm not sure which source my confirmation came from...Chris?).
And don't fret, Chris hangs around here frequently, so I'm sure he'll see your post and make sure your order gets posted so you can stay "up to date" with all the betas and the final 2.0 when it is released...
By the way, what happened when you went to the order lookup? Did it just say that there was no order that matched the information you entered? I usually just enter my email address and my City and State...

I entered my email address and the order number quoted by PocketGear and after pressing submit it just comes back with the blank form again. I'm in the UK so tried 'Town' and 'County' in 'City' and 'State' respectively but that did exactly the same thing!

Maybe Chris just needs time to get it onto the site. I couldn't access mine at first, even after a SIGNIFICANT time frame. I just emailed Chris, and he got it straightened out very quickly.
He's pretty busy, what with keeping up the site, answering questions here and in emails, and, well, developing Dashboard.
If the first email didn't yield a solution, then maybe a second would.

Hi,

Thanks for the interest - All registrations over the past few days are in the system and I've sent a personal response to those that emailed me directly about access. If you've been trying without success try now and it should work.
