Intel continues to improve their XScale line of processors. The latest versions (code-named "Bulverde") add some functionality aimed at improving the multimedia experience on devices with these chips. The Bulverde chips include the ability to quickly preview input from an attached camera module while maintaining low power draw, take "snapshots" at up to 4 mega-pixels, and also capture full-motion video. Intel has also transferred some of the MMX Wireless™ technology they developed for the Pentium™ desktop processors to allow multi-media applications to be quickly leveraged into devices power by the new processors.

Intel has continued to improve power-efficiency throughout the processor as well, especially enhancing the low-power standby and sleep modes.

More specifics are expeced to be released in the first half of 2004.
