PocketPC Italia has become known of late for being the first to publish information on upcoming Pocket PCs. Their information is usually fairly close to the mark in spite of that.
Today PocketPC Italia broke the story on the upcoming HP 6000 series Pocket PC Phone. Here are the specifications from their story:
* GSM/GPRS, class 10 cellular
* Wi-Fi 802.11b Wireless LAN
* Bluetooth
* built-in camera (VGA resolution -- 640x480 pixels)
* 64 MB of ROM / 64 MB of RAM
* transflective 3.5 inch display full-color display
* SDIO card slot
* removable (1850 mAh) battery
* size similar to iPAQ 2210
* release date of March 2004
HP has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Pocket PC phones. The Jornada 920 was only released to a limited market in Europe. The iPAQ 5600 was never released at all. There is a lot of internal discussion going on at HP as to whether customers would prefer a combination of cellular phone and PDA linked via BlueTooth or a device that combines elements of both.
