Samsung's (http://www.samsung.com/Products/DigitalAudioPlayer/yepp/DigitalAudioPlayer_yepp_YP_910GS.htm) new Napster music player is designed to compete directly with Apple's iPOD. It's got a 20Gb hard drive, FM radio reciever and transmitter, remote control, and line-in direct audio encoding! Of course it also fully integrates with the Napster 2.0 service and supports both MP3 and WMA playback.
Heheh.. THERE WE GO.. I guess it takes a huge media mess to make things right. Napster 2.0 might be the be-all, end-all source for music... (along with iTunes, and others..)
Having tight integration with sofware we already know (WMP, iTunes) is VERY damn smart, and will make it easy.
Now, for the movie industry.. bandwidth is getting up there.. this might just make a precedent for it.. or perhaps integrate right into it. yum..
Finally, we are making some progress people!

Who else thinks the software on this thing is going to be more complex than rocket science? The features alone call for a mess of menus, messed up records becoming unmanageble, etc...

It's not that complex. It's an .mp3 player, and it's got no more features than most of them do, with the addition of the transceiver. Quit being so phobic. I'm really looking foward to using this new Napster, since I'm not willing to tie myself to Apple but like buying music legally.
