Good review, now I have more information to mull over while I decide on what to do for a music player. I was considering an Ipod but all of my music is .wma and I don't want to mess with re-encoding my music.
In the interim I purchased a 512mb CF for my Ipaq, but exercising with my PDA scares me. The Dell looks really solid, but do I really want another device?
I already carry my 2210, Sony AM/FM radio and a Siemens bluetooth phone. Can I handle another device? I don't know, but that Dell sure looks nice.
Decisions, decisions...

I agree, Brandon. This is a good review.
I am struggling with making my own decision. While I have a 512MB SD Card in my i700, I am finding that I need more storage than I have in is main 64MB of RAM. I don't like sharing this space between music and installed programs...
Having just purchased a 2215, I am looking into a 4GB microdrive for music on it (effectively giving myself an iPOD Mini). I just had it upgraded to 128MB by PPC Techs, and will have enough room to install everything that I could want on it. I could also use the MD to hold digital pics from my camera when out and about so that I wouldn't have to take a laptop with me.
However, for about the same price as the 4GB MicroDrive, I could probably get either the 15GB or the 20GB Dell Juke Box...
Decisions, decisions...

Well, guys, I'm in the same predicament. If I could afford a 1.0GB SD card for my iPAQ 4155 I wouldn't need a seperate MP3 player but at $400 it doesn't seem reasonable... I think I'm going to take the middle ground and get a 512MB SD card. This can become frustrating because I have to guess what I'm going to want to listen to and copy those MP3s to my card... wish I could just store them all on my device but I'm a starving student so a 512MB card is going to have to suffice, I guess...
Great review, Brandon!

Devin,
Unless I've missed something, 512MB SD Cards can go between $130-$150US, plus shipping and tax.
If I were you, I would wait until you can come up with the extra $50 bucks or so, and get the 15GB player (priced at $199). Your 4155 doesn't have dual slots, which is the ONLY reason why I would consider doing this on my 2215.
After about 2 years with SD Cards, I am finding that they just aren't big enough, and I have other needs for them besides music. Music files are just so darn big (even at 128k). You either end up with a very full card and not much music, or not much music and a card that can still store stuff...

You make a good point, Chris. I should have mentioned that actually the biggest reason I want to go with an SD card for my 4155 over a player like the Dell DJ is because I don't want to have to carry around two devices... But financially your idea to get a $199 player is my best bet. I'll consider this... some more. ;)

How did the author Brandon Miniman, integrate the DJ to his car stero ?
I had looked into doing something like this last fall but none of the stero manuafacturers had a aux. jack or any way to connect the DJ/ipod/ etc to the car stero. Brandon or anyone else , please share how you did this , thanks

Essentially you'll need to find a way to convert miniplug to the aux. input on your headunit.
First you'll need a Y cable that converts miniplug (or what the headphones use on the player) to RCA (the black and red cables)...you can pick up the Y cable at Radio Shack or any other electronic place.
Then you're going to need to find a way to convert the RCA to the aux. input on your head unit, check the manufacturer for that.
If you are lazy and don't mind to compromise quality, get one of those FM transmitting devices that plug right into your player, and allows you to listen via radio. Check back in a few weeks for a review of Arkon FM Transmitter (http://www.arkon.com/sf.html).

motorcityxj,
If you have a cassette player in your car you can use this product from sony to listen to your MP3 player on your car stereo:
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/72401/wo/cW574c3Nowl52azFqKY1rCVthDu/6.7.0.5.3.15.8.9.0
This is a Sony product on Apple's web site, for the iPod, but it should work with any device with a headphone jack. You should also be able to find it on other online stores if you don't want to buy it from Apple.

Gee -- not sure! I've never had to take apart my DJ. Check out: http://www.delldjsite.com/ -- seems like a good place to find such an answer.
Good luck.
