One of the most central functions of a hand-held is Personal Information Management. Pocket Outlook is OK, but it just doesn't have the power to keep you on top of a busy schedule and lengthy to-do list. Fortunately, Developer One's Agenda Fusion does. Senior News Editor Russ Smith takes a good look at this super PIM program and gives you the details you need to know to see if it's for you.

I'm kind of curious on your comparison thoughts with other commercial PIMs.

I've been a long time user of PocketInformant, and so I've really never taken the opportunity to play around with Agenda Fusion (but I've heard that it's got some great new features).

I am an Agenda Fusion user for a few years now. I gave the latest release (v6.07) a try on a Dell Axim X5 Advanced. I found that the month view takes a long time to draw on the screen... up to 5 seconds with the month grids practically being drawn one by one. All other views are drawn reasonably fast. Just to make sure that it is not the Dell, I uninstalled v6.07 and installed v5.80 and with this previous version the month view is drawn on the screen just as fast as the other views. I contacted DeveloperOne about this and after a few emails back and forth and after I sent them a file with my settings I haven't heard anything back.

As for the "absence" of a Today screen plugin, apparently DeveloperOne does not have any thoughts of releasing one. For a long time I used their old TaskView Today but a couple of months ago I came across SBSH's Calendar Plus Professional (http://www.sbsh.net/). This seems to be the product that fills in the gap. Their homepage needs to be updated to reflect the features available in the current release. You can also visit their forums, where you will find a very active user base and a developer that wastes no time in interacting with the users. I wish that more developers were like this.
