Effect of Dashboard on iPAQ ROM Upgrade

Anyone have any idea if having Dashboard running negatively affects the iPAQ ROM upgrade? Rumors persist that 'certain' system apps can affect the process, so I'm just being thorough. Thanks.

While I wouldn't classify Dashboard as a System App - it does use the native OLE stuff to access the Pocket Outlook database.

I know that I hard reset my device prior to the ROM upgrade just to be sure that there wasn't anything hanging around to screw up the process. Although I read of quite a few people who updated with Dashboard running also.

(By 'system' I simply meant an App that runs even if there is no TASK in taskman).
