As a new user I have some questions and suggestions.

1. When I first started using Dashboard I did not use it as a Today plug-in but instead as an application. Running it this way I could use the D-pad to switch between the tabs. Now I am running Dashboard as a Today plug-in I find I can't use the D-pad to switch between tabs which is frustrating me! Is there a setting to enable this feature?

2. The Enhanced Mail Module is crap!
* I can only see one account at a time.
* It only displays three messages per screen (even though it only takes up one third of the screen space).
* I select minilauncher to appear on this tab but it doesn't.
* Replying to messages is just plain awful, for SMS's I have to reply in the tiny header field.
What I would really like from this tab is a preview of multiple accounts, and when selecting a message it opens the default or user selectable mail client.
As a short term fix it would be great if I could just have the standard inbox plugin on this page.

3. I have to play around with the positioning of today plug-ins. Depending on the order in the plug-ins are placed on the tab they can appear on all tabs!

Hi,

1. That's been that way for as long as the application has been out. It used to be that Microsoft didn't pass those messages on to Today modules but they might be doing it with the newer Pocket PC OS's - something I need to retest again.

2. If you turn off the preview you can get a lot more email addresses on the screen. I am working on a couple of fixes for it but one thing I'd really like to add is what you are asking for - to see more than one account at a glance.

3. Make sure that they are not enabled in the Today Settings applet. What type of ordering problems have you reproduced?

Thanks!!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the promt reply!

Well Amit at sbsh.net has this worked out for PocketBreeze. Switching Dashboard tabs with the d-pad would be fantastic :D :D :D (it means you could check your agenda email etc.. with out having to get your stylus out) If you do get this worked out how long would it be before we saw it in a release?

2. If you turn off the preview you can get a lot more email addresses on the screen. I am working on a couple of fixes for it but one thing I'd really like to add is what you are asking for - to see more than one account at a glance.
Thanks for the tip! And I found the icon that opens pocket outlook. Again I would really like it that when selecting a message it opens the message in the application of our choice.

3. Make sure that they are not enabled in the Today Settings applet. What type of ordering problems have you reproduced?
* I checked that only Dashboard was enabled in the Today Settings applet.
* I am using the following plug-ins;
- WorldMate SE
- MY PHONE
- Today Profile
- Pocket Zen Phone
- Spb PocketPlus
- Pocket Breeze (I have Pocket Breeze running on the Agenda tab, but had it disabled for testing.
* Well after running through the various combinations of the number and order of the plugins enabled I found the guilty party to Spb PocketPlus. If you have *any* plug-in above Spb PocketPlus those plug-ins will stick to every tab. This is a pain as I really wanted to Spb PocketPlus at the bottom of the screen.

So For now I have dropped using Spb PocketPlus (think I'll go back to cLaunch)

Thanks again,

Nick
