It is a commonality these days to see people turning their backs on their portable CD players and adopting a digital audio player or Pocket PC device to play their digital music. These devices offer mega-huge capacities, dynamic audio control, and a graphical user interface. Often times, though, they come with inadequate ear-bud headphones that have a range of frequencies limited to those blaring from the tweeters in your car. See how Future Sonics' Ears measured up in this comprehensive review.

They are a bit pricey, Roderick, but Future Sonics is a well established company in the world of audio transmission devices.

I actually got a response from Future Sonics regarding the color of their products, as it was one of my major gripes with the headphones:

"...in terms of the color, our products were never designed aesthetically for consumers and the hue is designed to be absorbed by stage lighting."

Looks like they certainly have considered this element of their product. Cool.

I've seen people pay much more....for much less....

People that have the money, will spend it.

When I have a lot of extra money, it amazes me to no end on all the "gadgets" that I just realized that I just "have to have"!

I know that when we think of the term "knock-off" we conjure thoughts of a cheap imitation of an original product. However, I want to point out that a very nice set of superficially identical earbud headphones are available which are far, far less expensive and utilizing the mini port in the back and a black heat sensitive memory foam in different shapes and coming with a carrying case. Were it not for their entirely satisfactory bass performance, even impressive, along with it's far superiorly attractive design.... I probably wouldn't feel so strongly about posting info about it. I mean really, $143 for earbud headphones? Are they made of solid gold? Amazing.... no I haven't tried them, but I too am an audiophile and I have paid my fair share of astonishing prices for stereo equipment in my day... but you have to at least stop to wonder sometimes and understand the basis for apparently exorbitant costs. If I can find the name of my headphones I liked so well , which cost no more than $20... if even that, I will come back and post the iidentifying info.
