View Full Version : Personal Folders in Dashboard Inbox and New User Issues...

Okay I have a few issues:

1) I ordered and downloaded dashboard from pocketgear, how do I get the appropriate codes for the dashboard site so I can continue to get the latest versions? I am already out of date with the version I downloaded and would like to upgrade to the latest and greatest!

2) The PPC 2003 default inbox module sees and sync's the email and attachments from my personal folders on my desktop. However...the dashboard inbox module does not. Any solutions to this problem?

Keith

Hi Keith,

I recently uploaded all the new buyers into the customer database - try the order lookup site now and it should let you in.

I'm not sure I understand the email question. Dashboard's mail module only sees the messages stored in your Outlook Inbox, it can't see any messages from another system.

Try to use Windows SE plug in "messaging" instead of Dashboard's mail module . If you would like to continue using DB's mail module, you can still get to your "messaging" page by clicking on a small arrow that appears on DB mail screen. Depending on the skin, it could be an arrow or some other symbol. Hope this helps.

I will certainly check out the user lookup page. Thank you.

To Clarify:

In the default Email module in PocketPC 2003 I can see messages in a subfolder of my inbox.

Inbox
|
- - - Subfolder
|
- - - Subfolder 2

In the Dashboard Email module I can only see messages in my Inbox. When I click to view all the folders, none of the subfolders are discplayed.

Like I said, I don't have any other third party apps installed on my iPAQ, just Dashboard and Wizbar.

Regards

Where can I find this plug in?

OK, now I understand.

Right now none of the mail modules for Dashboard (standard or enhanced) can view folders more than 1 folder deep. I'm looking into adding that soon though, probably this Fall.

If you have installed Windows SE, Messaging plug in should be available from Dashboard setup/options setting. I'll try to explain, if its too basic for you, please forgive me but I am trying to explain in a simple way:

1. From DB main screen, click on setting icon-Depending on the skin, this icon may look like a wrench, a check mark or any other icon (usually 2nd icon from the right).

2. This will initiate the DB setting screen-On this screen, you can select the plug ins you want under each module (MY Dash, Launcher, Mail etc..).

3. Click on mail icon-Here you should see 2 mail related plug ins (besides other plug ins)-Dashboard Mail Module and Messaging. Uncheck Dashboard plug in and place a check mark on messaging. Soft reset and you should be back in the business.

Note: If you don't have 2003 SE, you may see plug in "Inbox" instead of messaging. Try checking that.
Also, make sure your active synch has Inbox option checked otherwise, sometimes, it does not sych all the email.

Hope this helps. I am having hard time using my pocket pc screenshot program, otherwise, I would have posted a screen shot to make the matter easier.

Best regards,
Inder
