The award winning SnoopSoft Dashboard was introduced in 2000 with one goal: To simplify your handheld experience.
That goal was accomplished by making your most important information quickly and easily accessible directly from the Today Page.
Today we take that goal to its next logical stage of evolution and break out the modules contained within SnoopSoft Dashboard to become regular standalone Today modules that can be run with or without SnoopSoft Dashboard!
SnoopSoft is exited to announce the availability of DashToday for handheld devices running the Windows Mobile 2003, 2003 SE or Pocket PC 2002 OS!
SnoopSoft DashToday is the next evolutionary step for our software - breaking out the modules from SnoopSoft Dashboard so that they can be run by themselves on the Today page with or without SnoopSoft Dashboard. The DashToday modules are built from the same code-base as the SnoopSoft Dashboard modules (with some significant additions to handle their integration with the Today page and the absence of SnoopSoft Dashboard).
This is a FREE update for registered users of the old Enhanced Mail Module for Dashboard. This new product contains the SnoopSoft Dashboard Enhanced Mail Module as well as the same module recoded as a Today plugin.
Visit the DashToday Page (http://www.snoopsoft.com/dashtoday/) for more details!
Because this is a new product, I'm keeping the price very low while I work out the integration things like how does it work now that it doesn't have Dashboard; should we allow skinning of the icons; etc. If you have any feedback please post it here so we can improve the programs.
Thanks!

should we allow skinning of the icons
Yes! I think this would be a good feature and to be competitive with PIToday and PocketBreeze, which both allow skinning, it would be a necessity.

Hi,
I'm not actually competitive with PIToday or PocketBreeze. Both of those are much more functional PIM's... I've always shot for the lower spot of "just show me what's important" rather than the "I want to do everything possible" scenario.
That being said though the modules are fully skinnable (since they are from Dashboard itself) but that code is disable since it's tied to the Dashboard skins.
I'm trying to think of an easy way to implement the skinning of the icons for them. :)

Is there a trial version?

There's a trial version of Dashboard and these are the same modules from that. The only difference is the interaction with the Today page, but the look/feel of the modules is the same as what is inside of Dashboard.
Chris - I eagerly installed DashToday yesterday on my i-mate Pocket PC Phone (WM 2003) with the following results:
-The Today items list of other installed plug ins was no longer complete. I could not see Calendar+, Pocket Plus or Journal Bar as options any longer.
-SKTools confirmed all three were still enabled, but initially Journal Bar was not displaying.
-I uninstalled Calendar+, but still no Journal Bar.
-So I uninstalled and reinstalled Journal Bar - it returned to the Today screen, but Pocket Plus was gone as a Today plug in. It was still functioning otherwise.
-So I reinstalled Pocket Plus, but still could not get back the Today plug in view, even though the application and SKTools showed it as installed and enabled.
-Upon soft resetting my i-mate, I noticed an extended delay in the upper Taskbar painting and the GPRS and GSM restarting.
-I uninstalled DashToday, reinstalled Calendar+ and all seems back to normal.
I have been having problems running the full Dashboard product on my i-mate, having to complete hard resets within a day or two of installing it each time.
Are you aware of any overall compatability problems with the i-mate Pocket PC Phone running WM2003?

Hi,
Check your PM's - I'd like to test something and need a more direct method than the forums here.
Thanks!
Hi, Chris. I just tried a PM reply but the response was your box was full? I'll try again shortly.

Scott--
just purchased the new version of snoopsoft dashtoday advanced and I am attempting to install it on my new HP 6315 Pocket PC Phone. I am new to your product. I am having no luck installing this program. I am wondering if I need to install a separate program. Can you please let me know what I need to do. Thank you,
Dan

Hi Dan,
First, you unzip all the files to your local hard drive on your PC and with your Pocket PC device connected via ActiveSync, run the SETUP.EXE program from your PC (wherever you unzipped it).
The installer will automatically do the rest and move everything to your device and complete the installation there.
If you've already done this and nothing appears on your device, go into the Today Settings applet and tap on the ITEMS tab at the bottom of the display.
Check off whichever Today module you'd like to have on your screen and when you tap OK and go back to the Today page it will appear there.

Hi Chris--
thanks for the reply. I read the readme file carefully and unzipped the files, loaded the setup from the extracted files, and everything appeared to install correctly. I then went to the today screen and clicked on items. I checked all the some and then all dash items with and without the standard items-- unfortunately to no avail. When I unchecked all of the standard items, calendar, tasks etc. with a one of your items, the today screen comes up with bad today screen. Should this program work with the 6315? I would appreciate any other suggestions. Thanks,
Dan

Any idea of DashToday modules will work with PPX? Dashboard itself worked with PPX, so I'm assuming that the modules would too. (But I thought that I'd make certain)
If they do work with PPX, I'll be purchasing DashToday ASAP!
(thanks in advance)

Hi,
I've got an email request from the PPX developer for a test copy. I've been waiting to send them a test copy until I get the initial issues worked out.
I'll send them a copy of the test version tonight and see what they find.
Thanks!

I took it upon myself to try DashToday modules with PPX. This is using DashToday 2.2 and PPX latest beta (62).
Tried Agenda and Contacts so far with only one issue, as I see it.
The issue for me is that I use a 3rd party PIM (Pocket Informant specifically). DT opens the Pocket Outlook apps to edit appts or contacts. Chris, can we point to a 3rd party app? I already have my OS shortcuts pointing to PI.
DT scroll buttons work fine, text color of DT responds nicely to PPX text color changes.

Hey Chris--
Did you have anymore advice? Please refer back to previous post. Thanks,

Hi,
I'm working on the 3rd party launch of PIM functionality for the next iteration. I know it only launches the internal ones from Microsoft at this point.
cuthruxray,
I sent you a Private Message in response to your post. I wanted to send you a test version of 2.2 but ended up releasing it in the interim. You can download it from the Order Lookup site, Pocketgear or respond to the PM and I will send it to you.
I *think* it will solve your issues and if not I'd like to work directly with you to resolve them.
Thanks!

AWESOME! Thanks kwickone for testing this out! 3rd party PIM isn't an issue for me, but I'm glad and relieved to hear that DT and PPX work together nicely!
I am soooooo glad that I held off purchasing Pocket Breeze. I like the layout of the DT modules better. But I know that it is a matter of personal choice.

Hi,
I did send a copy of DashToday to the PPX developer this afternoon, so if there are any issues we can certainly work together to get them ironed out.
