I just got the new version and I love it! Sorry to hear you're having problems with Piracy! http://www.pocketnow.com/ubb/frown.gif
How do I enable landscape mode?
Thanks!

Hi tbdean,
I've been using Jimmy's Landscape program on my iPaq to get that functionality. What kind of device are you using?

Hi Chris:
I too have a iPAQ with jimmy's landscape software and am having trouble with the new landscape mode of dashboard. What is needed to be done to dashboard to have it strech and fill the right side of the screen? Do I need to download a now skin that specifically works with the landscape view?

I don't think it's meant to stretch the backgrounds, but supports a specific background made in landscape ... well that's my understanding anyway, could be wrong

I'm using an iPaq. (Just got it last month from DreamPages.com)
I didn't realize it was a separate program that did the landscape. Anyone have a link to Jimmy's software?

Hi,
Yep - Dashboard will not stretch the image, you'll need a Landscape skin to see anything in Landscape mode. I have 2 on my site and I'm sure the skinners will be creating more as the release propogates.

Hi!
Is there a chance to get a link to Jimmy's software?
Thanks!

Hi Tom,
Sure thing! I'll also be posting a link to them on my Dashboard page since this seems to be a recurring theme.

Mildly annoying artifact of landscape skin functionality:
I have my WISbar set from individual components and use the simple beige skin for Dashboard (I like a clean look).
Just for hoots, I downloaded the symbian skin set to see what landscape would look like with landscape-capable skins. Installed them, made them active and then I switched to landscape and then back to portrait mode. Symbian in both. Found them interesting. I then wanted my previous portrait skins back. So....
In portrait mode, I reset my dashboard and WISbar skins to my preferred components.
I then went to landscape and the symbian skinset was active (OK, no problem).
Went back to portrait, and whoops, symbian is back again (for both dashboard and WISbar) in portrait mode.
Could not figure out how to keep my portrait settings to my preference without deleting the symbian skin files from the pocketpc. Landscape mode wouldn't let me deselect symbian with it as the only landscape option. (suppose I wanted to use the symbian skin set in landscape, and my set in portrait?).

Yeah, the skins are a bit coordinated now. However, Landscape mode and portrait mode are treated independently and should remember which skin was last in use. I guess I need to create the Beige skin as a Landscape variation for you...
