There are a few good deals on flash memory that I've found. Many of these require rebates which expire sometime this month, so check them out soon.
Here's the list of Compact Flash cards:
* SanDisk 2 GB Compact Flash card (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=DJi6nulkbYI&offerid=63348.325642822&type=10&subid=0) -- $117.21 at Buy.com after $25 rebate
* SanDisk 1 GB Ultra II Compact Flash card (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=DJi6nulkbYI&offerid=63348.332053873&type=10&subid=0) -- $88.95 at Buy.com
* SanDisk 1 GB Compact Flash card (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=DJi6nulkbYI&offerid=63348.332053722&type=10&subid=0) -- $69.85 at Buy.com
Here's the list of Secure Digital cards:
* Lexar 1 GB Secure Digital card (http://www.computers4sure.com/product.asp?productID=2040096&info=Tech#tabs) -- $69.95 at Computers4Sure.com after $30 rebate (http://image1.cc-inc.com/rapcoupons/1236ecost.pdf)
* Lexar 512 MB Secure Digital card (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=DJi6nulkbYI&offerid=63348.323539860&type=10&subid=0) -- $34.71 at Buy.com after $20 rebate
Do any of these sound good to you?

I just picked up a SanDisk 1GB SD Card at Wiredzone.com (http://www.wiredzone.com/xq/asp/ic.30635252/qx/itemdesc.htm) for $81, shipped, and now it looks like they've added free shipping to this item in the three days since I ordered it :( ... now $78.90. ...for those wanting to avoid the hassle of a rebate.

And checkout this Kingston 512MB SD Card at NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-160-024&depa=0) for $32 after after a $17 rebate. :D

Comments that I've seen seem to indicate that Lexar SD cards are better than SanDisk SD cards. Unless you're really averse to rebates, the Lexar 1 GB SD card at Buy.com will also be almost $10 cheaper after the rebate.
I've also never bought from (or, as far as I can recall, even heard of) WiredZone. How were they to do business with?

That's a good catch if you don't care whether you get Kingston or Lexar. I've bought from NewEgg and didn't have any problems.

Well, it depends because the majority of Lexar SD cards are actually re-branded SanDisk cards. So are 85% of the SD cards out there. SimpleTech maufactures their own cards. As does Kingston, apparently, because visually you can see that they are slightly different from the typical SanDisk cards. I've heard that only some of the Lexar cards are actually re-branded SanDisk cards. I assume the dark blue ones are SanDisk while the black ones are either manufactured by Lexar or some other company.
Anyway, if its not Simpletech or Kingston its amost always a re-branded SanDisk card. Which is perfectly fine by me. SanDisk SD cards have worked very well for me in my iPAQ 4155.

I've heard that there are very few manufacturers of flash chips -- including Samsung and Toshiba (who control about 90% of the market (http://www.bizreport.com/news/7646/), although another source (http://www.telecom.globalsources.com/am/article_id/9000000055701/page/showarticle?action=GetArticle) said Samsung and Fujitsu dominate the market). Given that, I doubt most of the cards use SanDisk chips (although I suppose they could be rebranded SanDisk cards).
I've never had a Lexar card myself, but I've heard fewer complaints about them than about SanDisk SD cards. See the SD Problem Database (http://sdprob.aximsite.com) for information.

I had a SanDisk 128 MB SD card get completely corrupted. Reformatting it seemed to work, though, and I didn't have to return it.
