Google just released a new version of Google Maps Mobile (http://google.com/gmm) that now shows real-time traffic. The application runs as a Java Midlet, so you should be able to run it on any phone that supports those including many Pocket PC Phones and Windows Mobile Smartphones. I loaded the "high end" version on my Qtek 8500, but unfortunately the application crashes when I try to turn on the live traffic feature. I thought maybe my Smartphone didn't have enough memory and loaded it on a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone, but the application froze after navigating to a specific zip code. Has anyone else had better luck with this yet? Visit http://www.google.com/gmm on your mobile to download the Midlet.

That sounds pretty cool. However, Google doesn't explicitly support your StarTrek. Was your Pocket PC Phone in the list of supported devices (http://www.google.com/gmm/devices.html)?

If you don't need traffic, you might want to check out Map For PDA (http://www.mapforpda.com). It allows you to choose your map provider (Google, Yahoo, MSN Virtual Earth, etc.).

I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario/I-Mate K-JAM with ROM 2.21.

I was able to get this installed using the high-end phone option. I selected my zipcode and then turned on the traffic. It doesn't crash but the midlet is slow as crap. Of course, this is the first iteration so I'm not surprised. Also, my PocketPC is running very slow since this midlet was installed.
