According to Frank from Tweaks2k2 ( http://www.tweaks2k2.com), we can increase the performance of Windows Mobile 5.0 a bit via a registry tweak. To see his performance test results having done this tweak, click here (http://www.tweaks2k2.com/binfiles/wm5cache.zip).

According to these tests the optimum value is 4096. By default the value of the following registry keys is 0, which means a flexible unlimited cache size. By changing them to the above mentioned value you can increase the system performance up to 20% in some activities.

HLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize=0x1000(4 096)
HLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache=0x1(1)
HLM\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt\Repl StoreCacheSize=0x1000(4096)
