A big handful of us Qtek 8500 users have found that our phones seem to miss calls…lots of calls, if not “woken up” (by flipping open the phone) every 10 minutes or so. This issue has been well documented over at Howard Forums (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=950133&page=1&pp=15), and the only remedy, until Qtek releases a new ROM, is to load the i-mate Smart Flip ROM, which doesn’t miss calls. I tried doing this, finding that I needed to “CID Unlock first.” Too big of a hassle if you ask me, so I’ll be switching back to my old phone until this is fixed. Argh!

Yeah, I can't reproduce this on mine. Maybe it's because I keep push email shut off and don't leave the EDGE Connection turned on all the time. Mine will take calls just fine in the morning after being idle all night.

You can also use "Stay Connected for Smartphones" from Slipstream Solutions. The following settings are recommended:
Dial if Not Connected - Yes
Operating System Can - Yes
Check Every - 300 seconds
The users who have installed this application say they no longer have the Missed Call issue. Also, they say that no data is transferred so it doesn't affect their data usage bill.
