I've been a Cingular customer for about 2 years now. My first job here in TN had a good relationship with Bell South Mobility (which eventually became Cingular Wireless), and so I got my wife a Cingular phone back in 2001. I switched her to VzW in 2002 so we could do the whole IN Calling thing; and now everyone's on Cingular. They're cheaper than Verizon...

I recently upgraded my wife's phone to a refurbished Cingular 2125 and it turned up defective. Cingular replaced it within 3 business days of me calling that in. I recently picked up a refurbished Cingular iPAQ hw6515 for myself; and IT turned out to be defective as well. The device won't charge...

The nice thing about Cingular's refurbs is they get you into a good device at a decent price point. My experience with the quality of the refurb hasn't been great.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be making some posts on my experience with Cingular refurbished equipment and my overall satisfaction with their online order department. I'll also take some time to make some technical observations between WM2003SE and WM5 Phone Edition, as I'll have the opportunity to note the differences as well as comment on how they compare to one another.

I received a refurb 2125 to replace a defective 2125 at the beginning of July. Since then the refurb has burned up 8 sim cards, just had one replaced earlier this evening. When originally got the refurb I debated sending it back because the keys were gummed up with food of some sort. I was going on vacation the next day and needed my phone so I just cleaned it up myself. I need to exchange this one again, but haven't had the time to sit on the phone and wait for over two hours to talk to someone about it. Ba Humbug!
