We've been watching the growing patterns of iNav iGuidance (or variations thereof) for quite some time. And here we are, one year later, taking a look at the newest iteration, version 3.01. With an upgraded interface, but essentially the same application, could fiddling with a good thing prove to be a negative? Or are these changes simply another phase in this routing software's evolution into something even more efficient and usable than before? Read on to find out!

Hi Adam,

I was wondering where you got version 3.01. I was one of the earlier upgraders from version two and I was shipped version 3.0. This version has issues with the voice command when GPRS/EDGE is connected. So far, nobody has seen any update to this version on the iNav site. We are all waiting for the fix to this problem. Does yours have this issue? Your help is appreciated.

This version fixes the problem you mention (and so I didn't bring it up in the review). Hopefully they will have the patch available to the public soon!

I guess I was curious about whether the updated version was shipped in the retail version or whether you got the update from iNav directly for the review...

Directly from iNav. It should be a free upgrade for you (if you have 3.x).

The website has posted an "interim" 3.0.1 patch for registered users. I think it's interim, because some are experiencing crashes. (I'm using a Treo 700Wx and haven't crashed yet--although have barely tried the update), but on Treocentral.com it's been reported.
Hopefully, the real 3.0.1 patch will be posted and fixed on 11/20--again per their site.
