Launching November 9th on 02 for £269, VAT included, with unlimited data included in plans: £35 for 200 minutes and 200 SMS, £45 for 600 minutes and 500 SMS, and £55 for 1200 minutes and 500 SMS. UK iPhone users will have free access to WiFi networks from Cloud as well. At launch, O2 UK expects to only have 30% of UK covered in EDGE. Carphone Warehouse is also being used as a third-party distributer to meet demand needs.

Controversy erupted recently with rumors of O2 giving up 40% of its revenues to Apple. That's right, revenues and not profits. This is pure rumor and has not been confirmed. The suits at O2 must feel that there is added value in terms of increased number of subscribers to go with this deal.

In Germany, T-Mobile will be the exclusive carrier. For €399 with VAT and a 2-year contract, Germans will be able to purchase the iPhone from T-Mobile physical and web shops. Like O2, this model will be using EDGE for data as well, so no 3G for Europe yet coming from Cupertino.
