This is pure rumor, but the unwired (http://www.theunwired.net/?item=rumor-is-sony-ericsson-jumping-the-windows-mobile-bandwagon) is reporting that Tawain's Commercial Times is stating that HTC will be the ODM partner to manufacture Sony Ericcson's Window Mobile headsets, with volume shipment to begin in the second half of 2008. Commercial Times is also claiming that Sony Ericcson's order will account for 10-20% of HTC's total shipment.

Clearly this is rumor as Sony Ericcson is one of the major players and stakeholders of Symbian OS. In addition, Sony Ericcson has traditionally used the UIQ interface over its high-end smartphones. Anything could happen and if Sony Ericcson comes to the Windows Mobile camp, one thing is for sure: great handsets, amazing design, and for once maybe we'll get some decent cameras with Xenon flashes!

Sony Ericsson makes some serious phones. My t68i lasted is still working after 8 years (even a tour in iraq). No I don't use it anymore as I have my WM5 phone.

SE's camera phones take some great photos as well. I had an S700i for a bit that took amazing pictures. If SE continues in the tradition of great cameras on phones then you might find me in line for one.

They have some stiff competition from the competition HTC is throwing around.
