Beyond listening to voicemail and seeing a list of who called and when, there are a few additional features that can be accessed in the online console. For example, you can manually associate a number to a contact's name, so that when you get the transcription via email or SMS, it will say "Terry" instead of the caller ID entry (which happens by default, and is often not accurate). I wish there was a way to import many contacts at once by uploading a CSV file generated from Outlook or other email program.
If you want to upgrade from the free to the Pro account for $10 per month, you'll be able to listen to voicemails as they're being recorded (very neat!), and also have access to 24 hour phone support. The latter feature isn't really necessary, but the voicemail screening capability would be very useful at times (though $10 is a lot to pay for this feature).
Another feature I found neat was the "Call" function which is a quick way to call back a contact that has left you a voicemail. You can select the number from a list of recent calls - pressing the "Call" button will ring your cellphone, which will then connect you to the number that you've selected.
In Part 3, I'll speak to the accuracy of the service, plus the mobile experience.
