It looks like msmobiles (http://msmobiles.com/news.php/6914.html) has the scoop that the new generation of iMate devices will see a December 2007 release.
The iMate Ultimate series has the most powerful PDA/smartphones of its class sporting VGA screens, video out, and GPS on some models. A December release would help the company tremendously as the products would be available for purchase during the holiday shopping season.
Among the models in the Ultimate line, the iMate Ultimate 9502 (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=4610) would probably be the most direct competitor to the HTC TyTN II or AT&T Tilt with comparable form factor but enhanced specs on the iMate model. Other models include the much awaited 8502 (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=4611) and the 6150 (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=4335) with its off-centered joystick.
