MoDaCo (http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-Standard-News/264207/Asus-M930-officially-unveiled/) has unveiled the official specs for the Asus M930 Windows Mobile Standard phone with a clamshell design reminiscent of the Nokia E90 Communicator or the LG Voyager now on Verizon Wireless.
The M930 is revolutionary in that it would be one of the few Windows Mobile products to utilize a clamshell design rather than a sliding mechanism like the HTC TyTN or TyTN II. The only other product that has employed the clamshell design is the HTC Universal, although the Universal had a swiveling screen.
Here are the listed specs from MaDoCo:
- Windows Mobile 6 Standard
- TI TI2431 processor at 450MHz
- 3G + HSDPA
- QVGA 2" Screen (external) + 2.6" WQVGA screen (internal) - 400x240
- Internal QWERTY, external 12 key keypad
- 256MB ROM
- 64MB RAM
- WiFi / Bluetooth 2.0
- 2.0 Megapixel Autofocus Camera
- microSD expansion
- 158g
- 113mm x 54mm x 18.7mm
The external screen is a small 2-inch QVGA resolution display while the internal one is a wide-QVGA display at 400 X 240 pixels. That should make for a nicer web browsing experience!
The specs aren't clear which bands/frequencies are supported by the M930, but I suspect the North American frequencies won't be supported. The unveil date is for the CEBIT show.
