Samsung's bringing some design and flair to the Windows Mobile camp with a 5 megapixel camera on the Samsung i900, to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona according to Unwired View (http://www.unwiredview.com/2008/01/16/samsung-i900-samsung-sgh-i900-touchscreen-gps/).

It looks like HSDPA/HSUPA is included, along with WM 6.1, a 3.5" display, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, TV out, a spacious 1500 mAh battery, and micro SDHC support.

The phone will also come with Opera 9.0 browser! This is big news as only Opera Mini and Opera Mobile were available. Opera 9.0 will bring full AJAX support and also port over some Opera Widgets for mobile devices.

I, for one, am definitely looking forward to this phone. It has everything, except a physical hardware keyboard, and if it's a decent 5 MP camera, like the one on the Nokia N95, then it will be a great going out phone--no need to carry a phone, GPS, and camera. Although it wasn't clear whether it would be Windows Mobile Standard or Professional that will power the i900, it looks like the device will have a touchscreen.

But PhoneMag reported yesterday that the Samsung i900 would not run Windows Mobile (http://www.phonemag.com/samsung-i900-does-not-run-windows-mobile-01503.php#more-503). (See the pictures at the link.)

I guess we'll find out soon enough.
