The E-TEN Glofiish X800 is one of the few Windows Mobile Pro devices to come with a VGA screen. That makes for four times the amount of pixels that is on a standard QVGA screen, and since it's packed into a 2.8" area, that makes for a VERY high pixel density (and thus a super-sharp picture) -- 285ppi to be exact, compared to 160ppi for the iPhone (see this post (http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=4341) for more on ppi). Powering the X800 is a faster-than-usual 500MHz Samsung processor, so it should be a bit more snappy than the HTC Kaisers out there.

You're right - this definitely has a higher PPI (and resolution) than the iPhone, but the iPhone may still end up looking more vivid and smooth because it has a 252K color depth and a glass screen as opposed to the only 64K color depth of the X800 (and most WM devices). It's interesting how such little things make that kind of difference. But I love the fact that this has a VGA display!

Pity E-Ten couldn't also have added 128MB RAM - then this would be an amazing device.

I'll be curious to see what you think of the operation and performance of this device. The boards are full of people who've had mixed results with performance. Are you planning to run benchmarks on this as well? Any chance of also getting a comparison to the X650?

Funny - I didn't think the lack of memory would be too big of an issue, until I tried to run the camera application with a few other apps running, and I ran out of memory! On a high end device, I ran out of memory! Amazing.

That is a shame that it doesn't come with 128MB of RAM. Can't wait to see what the VGA screen looks like.
