All the major carriers are raising their text charges. Unless you're on a messaging lan, the per use text messaging charges will be at $0.20 for Verizon and Sprint. AT&T and T-Mobile are raising their rates to $0.15 according to Engadget Mobile (http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/01/23/cell-phone-bill-on-the-rise-check-your-sms-charges/).

T-Mobile raised it to $0.15/message a while ago (I thought), BUT... they lowered the MMS price from $0.25/message to $0.15/message at the same time.

Ouch :o, I pay 2 cents per SMS after my first 100. Definitely gotta love it here.

Verizon used to charge $0.10 per sent message and $0.02 per received message. I think they bumped that to $0.10 both ways a year or two ago, and $0.20 is ridiculous. Is text messaging getting more expensive to provide?
Pretty soon it will be cheaper to send a letter than use SMS.
