Our friends over at WMExperts (http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/fully_unlock_your_tilt_kaiser.html) had recently reported that there is now a SIM unlocking utility for the Tilt/TyTN II.

The utility was developed by some forum members over at XDA-Developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039) and is available to the community as shareware. This means if you like what they've done, you can donate to support future development efforts.

This is welcomed news for international travel or for those who don't want to shell out the premium to get an HTC-branded unit as the full retail price of the AT&T Tilt is cheaper. The Tilt sells for roughly $550 contract-free in AT&T Corporate Stores while the TyTN II costs about $700-750. Buying the AT&T unit means you can save a bit of money and use your T-Mobile USA SIM card if you are in the US, although you won't get 3G speeds now or in the future as T-Mobile will be deploying its USA 3G network on a different frequency.

You can grab the unlocking utility here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039).

You mean the TyTN II costs $700-$750.
