Several days after we posted the poll (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=5002) which asked you to select the Windows Mobile device you'd buy today if money wasn't an issue, and the results are clear: the HTC Kaiser won with 45% of the votes, and the i-mate Ultimate 9502 at a distant second with 14% of the votes.

Let's revisit the list for a moment:

HTC Kaiser (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=872)
Motorola Q9 Global (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=860)
Samsung SGH-i780 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=866)
HTC S730 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=1045)
E-TEN Glofiish M800 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=878)
Toshiba G920 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=999)
i-mate Ultimate 9502 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=909)

Why such a strong tendency to choose the HTC Kaiser? The poll suggested that money isn't an issue, so why not pick a phone with a similar form factor and operating system like the Toshiba G920 or i-mate Ultimate 9502 - devices that one-up the Kaiser in several areas such as screen resolution (both devices), processing power (on the G920) and video out (on the 9502)? Can someone explain the HTC Kaiser love affair? Is the tilting screen the key distinguishing feature that makes you favor it over other devices?

I try to keep HTC devices in my pocket because of the huge developer base for hacks, tweaks and general help. I'd consider the 9502, but not the G920 since it's not a true world-phone according to the specs given in the link above. The M800 won my vote though for the power and familiar form factor.

Good point on the hacks and tweaks, I never thought of that.

Same here. XDA-Developers do a good job in keeping it exciting .
