Wow... deja vu! My first modem (about 1980) was a 300 baud coupler that looked pretty much like this one! I remember when the new ones, with the blinding speed of 1200 came out with no coupler... it took me a long time to get my arms around how it knew what to do on its own.

Now if they bring back those 5 1/4" diskette drives, I am so ready. I have a stack of real 'floppies' just looking for work.
