According to wmpoweruser.com (http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=765), the iPhone internet cannot be called the full internet anymore. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the UK has deemed that for any internet browser to handle the full, real internet, it must support Java and Flash, two popular standards that the iPhone does not yet support. The ASA has also stated that Apple cannot advertise that the iPhone supports and displays the real internet as that is misleading.

On the other hand, Windows Mobile does support true internet capabilities with Internet Explorer, Opera Mobile, SkyFire, and NetFront. Of the browsers mentioned, all are freeware except for NetFront, which is a paid-for application.

Yeh the iPhone ads should have been removed along time ago, like i seen on this site, the article of the iPhone running side by side to the TV advert. I just couldnt believe how slow it was, It was not good at all

The rest of the world should start removing the adverts too.

Maybe Apple should say "Formats pages just like on your PC" or something (not "Displays pages just like on your PC", though; that would require those plug-ins).

Windows Mobile itself does not deliver the true Internet, either, though. It doesn't include Java or Flash support (although after Microsoft's deal with Adobe (http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?t=23092), Flash may be coming some time).

Yes, you can install software that does a better job, but does that really count? While there are some OEMs that include that software (and could therefore claim that they support the real Internet), I don't think most OEMs include Flash and/or Java.

Most people don't even really spend that much time using their iPhones for internet usage. But you do make a totally big point. A lot of their advertising is misleading. This is why I don't have an iphone :-)

Maybe not in the overall scheme of things, but the press and blogs were making a huge deal when it was announced that the iPhone had like 0.8% browser marketshare -- more than all Windows Mobile devices put together. So it sounds like iPhone users may browse the Web more than other phone users.
