According to MobilitySite (http://mobilitysite.com/2008/08/wifi-in-flight-on-american-airlines-voip-update/), American Airlines already launched their in-flight WiFi services on select trans-continental flights. The service is dubbed Gogo and will block VOIP over its WiFi network. However, MobilitySite is reporting that there is a workaround to Gogo to enable VOIP. You could log into Phweet (http://phweet.com/) with your Twitter account and have a voice conversation with someone over the Twitter network. The downside is that both parties need to have Twitter accounts. The upside is that the call will be cheaper than the in-flight phone service.
