The BlackBerry Bold (http://gizmodo.com/5043272/blackberry-bold-hitting-sept-12-for-299-say-att-employees) is probably seen as the closest competitor to the Treo Pro (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_search&q=treo+pro&x=0&y=0) in terms of looks and features. The crackberry device is reported to hit AT&T on September 12 and will give the Treo Pro some competition with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, 3G wireless, GPS, and enterprise features. Unlike the Treo Pro, which will only be available direct from Palm at unsubsidized prices, the Bold will be offered through AT&T subsidized with a two-year service agreement for $299 according to Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5043272/blackberry-bold-hitting-sept-12-for-299-say-att-employees).

Aren't those common features on BlackBerry devices? The big difference is that the Bold will be a touchscreen device, a first for BlackBerry. It's probably keeping a keyboard, too, because RIM's CEO says (http://www.macworld.co.uk/ipod-itunes/news/index.cfm?RSS&NewsID=21394) customers "cannot type as fast or as effectively on a touch screen, and that's one big reason why the BlackBerry is a more suitable business device" than the iPhone. (I agree with that, but touchscreens are useful for many other things.)
