Will Dashboard work on monochrome Ipaq???

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to install Dashboard on my Ipaq 3135. It doesn't show up on the Ipaq. Anyone successfully done this? Any tips you could give me? Thanks!

I've got Dashboard, and the Enhanced Mail Module installed on my iPAQ 3150 and it works like a champ.

Are you getting any error messages when installing? ...when running? Do you have your skins in the right directory? Are you seeing anything on your screen when you run Dashboard?

Are you running any other software at the same time? What's in active PROGRAM memory at the same time?

I'll help if I can; but i've been running it all in RAM and then all from a Storage Card, too, since July without any problems.

I also have a 3150 and have the same problem.

I've read the Dashboard info on Web McDeb's page and the Snoopsoft page but not had much luck getting dashboard installed and working.

There are no errors during install but (while following the instructions in the readme) when I go to the "Today" page to activate Dashboard and move it up in the order, it's nowhere o be found.

If I go to the programs directory, Dashboard is there and I can launch it but it doesn't seem to function properly. For instance:

- using the default/beige scheme, all that appears are a row of tiny icons. When I click on them, my calendar entries appear but nothing shows up under notes or contacts.

I have the contrast set for "best display" rather than "Higher contrast" if that matters.

Also, I've been trying to solve a mystery and I hope you can help. Is the screen of your 3150 black text on a white background or black text on a green background? I recently bought this 3150 on eBay and it doesn't look at all like the picture Compaq displays on their website. Instead of the crisp b&w screen, it's a dull grey/green with black text like the Palm.

Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, so I have been making wonderful progress. I've redownloaded Dashboard and a number of skins from here and there. I've got it all working wonderfully except for mail and contacts. Neither will display.

I read the readme but didn't see anything about these being registered only features (of course I might have missed it).

The Whistler and PPC skins seem to display very nicely on the grey-green and black (text) screen of the 3150.

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Mail and MyDash are only enabled in the registered user version. If you have an iPaq, a Compaq version will ship on the upgrade CD (though it is a bit different than the normal registered version).
