Bugs in new Dashboard?

Hi!


I've encountered the following Problems:

+) When you choose "Active" for the Task-View, my Dashboard shows me no tasks at all, even if some tasks have passed the due-date.

+) My Dashboard doesn't show me any skins stored on the storage card, even if I've selected the correct path.

But besides these problems, Dashboard is a cool thing ;-)

Hi Tom,

We had a discussion in here a couple revisions ago about what constitutes an 'Active' Task. At the time it seemed that there were several competing views of this and we went with the most popular when implementing the feature. I'll have to dig around to find the definition we ended up using, but if Dashboard is displaying the same Tasks as 'Active' in this version as in the previous registered version then I think it's working as designed. I'll have to look into it though.

Secondly, have you ever used skins off your storage card before? I just double checked this and no skins showed up for me either, but when I went and looked, my Storage Card had been renamed to 'Storage Card2'. When I repointed to the new location and closed and opened the Options dialog again, I saw all my skins. Also make sure that you've copied ALL files from the skins ZIP archive over to the card - you must unzip the skin archive on your PC and then copy all the files from there to the device.

Thanks for your fast response. Here we go:

#1: I was perfectly happy with the way the previous version handeled the Active Tasks. Problem is, that this version seems to treat them in a different way.
As I see it: "Active Tasks" has no output except you have a Task without Due Date.

So, the only tasks my device shows with "Active Tasks" are Tasks without Due Date.
Tasks that have passed the start date but not the due date are not shown, as well as dates that *have* passed even the due date are not shown.

#2: Yes, I've used skins from my storage card. My storage card was not renamed, but the following happened:

I had the skins in sub-folders of a "skins" folder. So, the path was set correctly to the "skins"-folder, but the new Dashboard didn't find anything. After reading your post, I set the path to a sub-folder of "skins" (e.g. LCARS). What now happened was, that Dashboard didn't find only the LCARS-Skin in addition to them on the device; it found literally all skins that were stored in different sub-folders of "skins". And the best thing is, that now, when I've set back the path to the "skins"-folder, Dasboard still finds all skins on the storage card.
So, this problem is solved for me, but maybe it happens again to somebody other?

Too true.

I was also happy with the way the previous version dealt with tasks.

This new version is definitely different.

It is ONLY showing undated tasks under "active tasks"

Please Chris, is this the way its meant to be? I hope we can get things back to the way it worked before.

Ok - looks like I managed to re-break the Tasks - I will fix that in an update shortly for you all. Thanks for all your help in narrowing it down!
