Hi Scott!
I just love the new feature to use the Today-skin (in Pocket PC 2002) as the background of DB. But I would love to be able to change the text to other colors or something. Is there any .dsh file? Or what can I do?
Thanks for a superb software!
Regards,
Cloud

Hi Cloud,
I'm looking into allowing you to just pick whatever colors you want for the text in that scenario. There isn't a DSH file for it but I may do that also since the toolbar icons always end up in the same spot too.

Why can't dashboard use the text colors that are selected in the theme's .tsk file?

Hi,
The Today page version of Dashboard will use the Theme text colors properly. The stand-alone executable will not. I've asked Microsoft how to obtain the text colors from this version but they haven't responded to my requests yet.
Thanks!

Chris, there are a lot of great *.tsk skins out there for 2002. How can I use them with dashboard?

Hi,
If you have the Pocket PC 2002 version of Dashboard loaded then you instruct Dashboard to use the Today Theme as the skin by going into the Options dialog and choosing '<Today Theme>'. This functionality is only available in the registered version of Dashboard.
Thanks!

Yes I have a registered copy. But can I use another skin besides the today skin?

Hi,
Well, how it works is that if you select the <Today Theme> as the skin then if you want a different image you just need to download some of the available .TSK files and use the Today Settings applet to change Themes on your Pocket PC. Dashboard will automatically recognize the change and use the new Theme settings automatically without you having to change anything. Does that answer your question?
Thanks!

OK I got the skin I wanted. Is there anyway to change the buttons?

Hi,
Not really... That's the main difference between having a full blown Dashboard skin such as the one's available at www.WinCustomize.com and using the Today Theme. The Today Theme doesn't give you control over multiple font colors within a view, multiple graphic images within a skin or control over the toolbars, buttons and images of the program. To do all that you need a Dashboard skin instead of a Today Theme.
The Today Theme's are nice, but they are a bit limited in what they can do. For a future release, I may allow you to control where the default buttons and images are placed on the Today Theme, but that's about as much control I can give out and still have everything look OK. I tried hard to insure that the images look fairly good on various types of backgrounds.
Thanks!
