On the ludicrous end, using the standard BlueTooth example, instead of just being able to connect wirelessly from your PDA through your phone while the phone is still in your pocket, this would allow you to do it even if you forgot and left your phone in your car :)
The real-life use of this will be to use it as a gateway for a BlueTooth enabled device to connect to a wireless network. I can see some home users being interested in it as a way to network an already BlueTooth enabled printer but I see it more in industry where the company could purchase, say iPAQ 3870s and save money on providing connectivity to the corporate network.
