Now the Tokyo Macs has an offering for the perennially-connected: For around $13 per month, customers will be able to connect their lap-top or PDA via WiFi network.
McDonalds deal with SoftBank is part of a plan to eventually put WiFi access in throughout Japan. Eventually, there will even be Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VOIP) as part of the service.
While appealing to a lower price bracket, McDonalds is following the lead of Starbucks in the States. If it works well in Japan, perhaps the "Surf-and-Snarf" will make it to other shores as well.
