Windows Live allows your Windows Mobile phone to receive real PUSH email from your 'live' or 'hotmail' accounts. Most Windows Mobile devices will have Windows Live pre-installed, but if not, it can be downloaded from here:

Once you have Windows Live installed:

-Accept the Terms and Conditions.

-Sign in with your Live or Hotmail account (make sure to save your password).

-Choose to have the Live Search Bar and/or the Windows Live today screen plugins turned on (I usually choose not to).

-Choose to copy your Windows Live/Hotmail contacts to your mobile phone. (If you have a lot of contacts and don't use them regularly, this is not recommended).

-Leave the "Sync e-mail" option checked.

Windows Live will synchronize your account and create a new mailbox called "Hotmail".

To turn on PUSH:

While still in Windows Live,

-Goto Menu

-Goto Options

-Goto Synch Schedule

-Change the Sync Frequency to "As items arrive"

-Make sure Times is set to "Always"

-Press Done and Done.

One caveat, Windows Live must be running for the push synchronization to work.

Send yourself an email and revel in the near-instant notification.
